What’s Really Important?

We value life. That’s why we will never spray any pesticide, herbicide, fungicide, or any chemical on our farm. Any input is designed to promote life and a healthy balanced ecosystem. Plants don’t get sick or attacked by pests because they lack antibiotics, vaccines or chemicals. They get sick because they lack proper nutrition.

  • In simple terms, it means “to leave it better than you found it.” In our context it means several things.

    1. Improving soil health

    2. increasing bio-diversity

    3. carbon sequestration

    4. humane treatment of animals

    5. improving overall ecosystem as a whole

    1. Life above all else

    2. Faith not Fear

    3. Never be afraid to fail

    4. Healthy Soil=Healthy Plants=Healthy Humans

    5. Beyond just “Organic” practices

  • 1. Context-what would this plot of land look like before humans ever came here?
    2. Minimize Soil Disturbance-No Till Farming
    3. Living Root-always have a living root in the soil, whether it be fruit and veggies or just a cover crop
    4. Soil Armor-keep the soil covered and protected, be it cover crops, mulch, or compost.
    5. Diversity-No mono-cultures. Provides a diversity of resources to all soil life, from the microbes to the worms to the birds in the sky.
    6. Animal disturbance-some form of herd animal agitation facilities nutrient cycling.
